2020 Art Harvest Canceled

Junior League of Clearwater-Dunedin Cancels Annual Art Harvest Festival

The popular art festival was scheduled for November 7-8.

Dunedin, Fla. (Sept. 1, 2020) —The Junior League of Clearwater-Dunedin (JLCD) canceled the 2020 Art Harvest Festival event due to recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the City of Dunedin government. The event was scheduled to take place Saturday, November 7 and Sunday, November 8, 2020.

2020 will mark the first time in 57 years that JLCD has not held Art Harvest. Funds raised from the two-day event are used by JLCD to combat food insecurity, promote literacy in the community, and train women to be effective volunteers in our community.

“The COVID-19 pandemic has led our League to face uncharted times, and the decision to cancel the event was a difficult one,” states JLCD President Mary Ellen Shaffer, “We used a multi-pronged approach to come to our final decision. We surveyed artists, conferred with the City of Dunedin, and considered the public health and safety for all volunteers, artists, sponsors, corporate partners, city officials, vendors, and patrons. Our members are disappointed that we cannot hold the event this year, but we plan to be back for the 57th Art Harvest on November 6 and 7, 2021. We look forward to welcoming everyone next year.”

JLCD will be working with registered artists directly over the coming weeks to ensure all refunds are arranged.

JLCD has other fundraisers planned for 2020-2021, including the Little Black Dress Initiative, a poverty awareness, and a fundraising campaign.
