HISTORY

Since 1948, many dynamic women have committed themselves to serving and improving the lives of women and children in Northern Pinellas County. Over 650 members have raised more than 1 million dollars and contributed over 1 million volunteer hours since the inception of the Junior League of Clearwater-Dunedin (JLCD).

JLCD was created in 1986 when the Junior League of Clearwater and the Junior Service League of Dunedin merged. The League is comprised of passionate women from a multitude of professional and personal backgrounds. Junior League members are doctors, accountants, lawyers, homemakers, mothers, teachers, and other professionals who have united to make a difference in the lives of others. Our members also volunteer for many other non-profit organizations in the community in a variety of ways.

The Junior League of Clearwater-Dunedin is affiliated with the Association of Junior Leagues International, Inc. (AJLI). Like the Junior League, AJLI is a non-profit organization that brings 294 Junior Leagues together across four countries. Our 170,000 diverse members are all united by their commitment to voluntarism. Committed to education, training, developing, and diversifying their membership, the Junior League of Clearwater-Dunedin, Inc., encourages all women who demonstrate an interest and commitment to voluntarism to join our organization, regardless of race, religion, or national origin.

Past Projects

In addition to the programs and projects currently provided to the communities of Northern Pinellas County, JLCD  has supported many programs with dollars and volunteers. While this is not a comprehensive list of all of the projects we have participated in, it does highlight some of our achievements and illustrates our commitment to making a difference in the communities where our members live.
